Our weekly programs

At Firefly Farm and Forest, we offer weekly programs designed to embrace natural exploration, connection with the earth, and inquiry-based learning using a child-led approach. We're happy to accommodate any needs, whether financial or otherwise, and everyone is welcome in our space.

Forest Friends (3-6 years)

Forest Friends (ages 3–6 | mid-day drop-off) |

Forest Friends is a gentle introduction to outdoor learning designed specifically for younger children who are ready for a drop-off experience but still benefit from a slower, play-based rhythm. Children spend their time exploring both the farm and forest spaces, engaging in mud kitchen play, creative stations, woodworking and simple tool use, rock mining, imaginative play, and plenty of open-ended exploration.

The focus is on building confidence, fostering emotional regulation, and allowing children to develop a deep connection with nature through hands-on experiences and long stretches of uninterrupted outdoor time.

Cost: $350/child/season, siblings 30% off.

Spring start: week of March 31

Homeschool Wednesdays (All Ages)

Homeschool Wednesdays (families | parent required)

Homeschool Wednesdays is a family-based outdoor learning day where children attend alongside a parent or caregiver. Families come together to explore the farm and forest with other like-minded homeschool families through guided activities, seasonal learning opportunities, and lots of open-ended exploration.

This program encourages community building, collaborative learning, and shared experiences in nature while still allowing children the freedom to explore at their own pace.

Cost: $250/family/season

Spring start: week of March 3

Nature Navigators (7+ years)

Nature Navigators (ages 7+ | full-day drop-off)

Nature Navigators is an immersive full-day outdoor program for older children who are ready for deeper exploration and skill building. While we still embrace creative play and curiosity, this program places a stronger emphasis on survival skills, teamwork, problem-solving, and hands-on learning such as shelter building, navigation, woodworking, fire skills, and nature-based challenges.

Children spend the majority of their day in our forest “home base” while also exploring the farm space, allowing for both adventure and downtime when needed. This program supports independence, resilience, confidence, and emotional well-being through meaningful outdoor experiences.

Cost: $600/child/season, siblings 30% off.

Spring start: week of April 10

Nature Playgroup (0 to 5 years)

Nature Playgroup (ages 0–5 + caregiver | parent required) | Saturday Mornings

Nature Playgroup is a Saturday morning program designed for our youngest explorers and their caregivers. Families engage together in sensory-rich outdoor experiences such as mud kitchen play, nature crafts, frog pond exploration, interacting with the chickens, and creative play across the farm space.

The focus is on connection — to nature, to each other, and to the community — while supporting early childhood development through play-based outdoor learning.

Cost: $160/family/season

Spring start: April 4
