Our weekly programs

At Firefly Farm and Forest, we offer weekly programs designed to embrace natural exploration, connection with the earth, and inquiry-based learning using a child-led approach. We're happy to accommodate any needs, whether financial or otherwise, and everyone is welcome in our space.

Forest Friends (3-6 years)

Forest Friends (ages 3–6 | mid-day drop-off) |

Forest Friends is a gentle introduction to outdoor, land-based learning designed for younger children who are ready for a drop-off experience but still benefit from a slower, play-based rhythm. Children spend their time exploring across the Firefly land, moving between gardens, wetlands, open spaces, and forested areas as they engage in mud kitchen play, creative stations, woodworking and simple tool use, rock mining, imaginative play, and open-ended exploration.

Through daily experiences, children are also introduced to plant identification, foraging, and seasonal rhythms, developing early connections to botany and the living systems around them.

The focus is on building confidence, supporting emotional regulation, and allowing children to develop a meaningful connection to the land through hands-on experiences and long stretches of uninterrupted outdoor time.

Cost: $350/child/season, siblings 30% off.

Spring start: week of March 31 (2 Spaces left)

Homeschool Wednesdays (All Ages)

Homeschool Wednesdays (families | parent required)

Homeschool Wednesdays is a family-based, land-based learning day where children attend alongside a parent or caregiver. Families come together to explore the Firefly land with other like-minded homeschool families through guided invitations, seasonal learning opportunities, and plenty of open-ended exploration.

As they move across the land, families engage with the diverse ecosystems of Firefly — from gardens and wetlands to open spaces and forested areas — with opportunities to explore foraging, botany, seasonal rhythms, and hands-on outdoor skills in a way that feels natural and accessible for all ages.

This program fosters community building, collaborative learning, and shared experiences while allowing children the freedom to explore at their own pace and follow their own curiosity.

Cost: $225/family/season

Spring start: April 1, 2026

Nature Navigators (7+ years)

Nature Navigators (ages 7+ | full-day drop-off)

Nature Navigators is an immersive, full-day land-based learning program for older children who are ready for deeper exploration and understanding of the natural world. While creativity and curiosity remain central, this program places a stronger emphasis on ecological awareness, observation, and hands-on experiences rooted in the living systems of the Firefly land.

Children spend their days moving across diverse ecosystems including Dragonfly Waters, the Wild Wetlands, Pollinator Grove, and our garden and foraging spaces, engaging in meaningful exploration of topics such as wetland ecology, decomposition, water systems, geology, plant identification, foraging, and early apothecary practices. Through this work, they begin to understand the relationships between land, water, plants, insects, and pollinators.

Opportunities to explore the surrounding forest are still woven into the program, allowing children to develop skills such as navigation and spatial awareness, but the primary focus remains on building a deep, ongoing relationship with the land they return to each week.

The rhythm of the day allows for both active exploration and quiet observation, supporting independence, confidence, and emotional well-being while fostering a strong sense of environmental stewardship and belonging within the natural world.

Cost: $600/child/season, siblings 30% off.

Spring start: week of April 10 (3 spaces left)
