At Firefly Farm & Forest, we believe every child deserves a place where they feel seen, capable, and connected.
The Rooted Collection is a family of programs designed to meet children and families at different stages of their journey. Whether you're looking for a land-based learning community, a therapeutic program, or meaningful opportunities to explore nature together, each experience is grounded in the same philosophy; relationships first, learning through experience, and a deep connection to the natural world.
Together, these programs create a pathway for families to grow alongside our community, season after season..
Rooted Together
Monthly Family Nature Experience
September–June
Third Saturday of each month
10:00 a.m. – 12:30pm
Rooted Together invites children and the important adults in their lives to slow down, explore, and experience the rhythms of the seasons together.
Rather than placing expectations on children to participate independently, this program recognizes the value of shared experiences. Families are encouraged to garden, create, explore, build, observe wildlife, gather around the campfire, and simply enjoy unhurried time in nature.
By removing age restrictions, Rooted Together creates an inclusive environment where every family can participate in a way that feels meaningful to them.
Whether your child is adventurous, cautious, neurodivergent, homeschooled, or simply happiest with you nearby, Rooted Together provides opportunities to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and become part of a supportive community.
Investment: $600 annually
Rooted Lyceum
Land-Based Learning Community
Ages: 3–12 years
Program Days: Monday, Wednesday & Friday
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Season: September–June
Rooted Lyceum is Firefly Farm & Forest's land-based learning community for families seeking a thoughtful alternative to traditional education.
Within our mixed-age environment, children engage in meaningful work that naturally integrates literacy, numeracy, science, history, communication, environmental stewardship, and the arts. Through animal care, gardening, woodworking, herbal apothecary, nature study, storytelling, journaling, and child-led inquiry, learning becomes purposeful, engaging, and deeply connected to everyday life.
Our educators guide rather than direct, preparing rich environments that encourage independence, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving while honouring each child's unique strengths, interests, and pace of development.
Rooted Lyceum is more than an educational program—it is a learning community where children develop confidence, cultivate curiosity, and experience the joy of learning through meaningful relationships and authentic experiences.
Investment: Starting at $325/month
Rooted Pathways
Therapeutic Nature Program
Rooted Pathways is an evidence-informed therapeutic program developed in partnership with a Registered Social Worker. Combining the restorative benefits of nature with therapeutic practices, the program supports children in developing emotional regulation, resilience, self-awareness, social confidence, and meaningful connections.
Each session incorporates nature-based activities, mindfulness, creative expression, practical life skills, and guided reflection within a small, supportive group environment where every child is known and valued.
Designed to meet children where they are, Rooted Pathways embraces a neuroaffirming, strengths-based approach that celebrates individual differences while nurturing emotional well-being and personal growth.
Insurance receipts may be available through the Registered Social Worker.
